Camp RYLA

What is RYLA?

1_medium

RYLA stands for Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. One of the goals of Rotary is to help young people develop their leadership abilities and self-confidence to the fullest. To accomplish that goal, Rotary clubs around the world prepare thousands of young leaders through RYLA programs each year. Camp RYLA is held at YMCA Camp St. Croix near Hudson, Wisconsin on the St. Croix River and ends at the Crowne Plaza Riverfront in downtown St. Paul

What do campers do at RYLA?

Camp RYLA is a week of very intense leadership training. Campers (RYLArians) learn about what it takes to be not just a leader but a good one. Outstanding speakers from all over the region, discussion groups, and sessions with volunteer Rotarian staff members are just a few of the sources for individual development. Activities include daily interaction among camper groups, challenging physical and mental activities, and fellowship with youth leader peers and Rotarians. Campers make friendships that last a lifetime!

If I get accepted, does Camp RYLA cost anything?

Camp RYLA is sponsored by local Rotary clubs and Rotary International. District 5960 is committed to sponsoring Camp RYLA as one of its outstanding youth projects. Rotarians have noted the positive effects that RYLA has on its participants, and this has led to a commitment to the RYLA program. Individual Rotary clubs pay all of the fees for each camper. RYLArians incur no costs for attending this week of intense learning.
