Stillwater Sunrise Rotary Club - Stillwater, Minnesota

Mary Jo was involved in the Stillwater community and its public schools in countless ways. She joined our Stillwater Sunrise Rotary Club in 1987, serving as club President 1991– 92 and later as District 5960 Assistant Governor. She was Deputy Superintendent of ISD 834 at the time of her death in May 2000.

Mary Jo is remembered as a beloved friend whose favorite saying was, “Always, what's best for kids.” In her memory, Stillwater Sunrise Rotary has raised over $40,000 for the WEINGARTEN WHAT’S BEST FOR KIDS ENDOWMENT.

Proceeds from our annual Golf Event will once again help build the endowment, as well as support additional Sunrise Rotary youth projects such as YADP and the STRIVE scholarship program at Stillwater High School. In all these ways, the impact of Mary Jo’s legacy will continue to benefit the youth in our community for generations to come.
